The work reflects the displacement of the delonix regia/ Gulmohar. I have used the seedpod of the gulmohar and crocheted it with cotton threads and with red

bamboo fibre threads. The juxtaposition of the traditional craft of crocheting with the unconventional use of bamboo fibre hints at the interplay between tradition and disruption, echoing the Gulmohar’s displacement and adaptation to new environments. As the cotton threads embrace the seedpod in a familiar embrace, and the red bamboo fibers assert their presence, the artwork unfolds a narrative of resilience, adaptation, and the transformation of a once-wild entity into a symbol of controlled beauty.
