This is a captivating art series, echoing the graceful contours of the cocoon structures. The closed and open forms, meticulously crafted from coir ropes, evoke the dual nature of safety and transformation. Inspired by the coir ropes used in Indian construction, these pieces symbolize a sanctuary where caterpillars and dreamers intricately weave their dreams within a net-like embrace, constructing a secure haven. In contrast to it, I have knotted another form of a cocoon that feels torn and mutilated.

This contrast of visuals talks about the juxtaposition of nature and human intervention, embodying a torn essence. The visible impact reflects a poignant narrative of conflict, echoing the struggle between nature’s resilience and the imprint of human influence. Crafted with coir rope and intricate macrame knots, the piece visually conveys a sense of being pulled apart, inviting contemplation on the intricate relationship between the natural world and human actions.
